Our Sustainability Strategy
Our sustainability strategy aims to take us to a sustainable business model and it applies to the whole of our organization. Our aim is for everything we do to be done sustainably.
We have a sustainability promise: to offer responsible fashion that feels right for you, and for the world around us. But there’s nothing new in that! We have in many ways been committed to taking responsibility right from the birth of Kappahl, in 1953. Our first organic collection came out back in 1993, and we were the first fashion chain in the world to be environmentally certified. Our share of clothes made of certified and/or preferred materials is increasing all the time, and we work for sustainability at every level of our business.
Sustainability for us
Sustainability means for us that we want to take care of both your wardrobe and the world around us. Responsible Fashion not only takes into account you as the wearer of the garment, but also the entire chain from manufacturing to recycling. For us, it’s all connected.
Our clothes are made to give you a good feeling and become your wardrobe favourites. But they also feel right because you know they are produced with care – without compromising on quality or design. It’s an important task and together we can make a difference! We take responsibility for ensuring that our products are as sustainable as possible. And you can help by caring for your clothes and passing them on when you no longer need them.
Kappahl’s Sustainability Strategy
Sustainability is changing and revolutionising the entire fashion industry, and calls for innovative business models and progressive approaches to transformation. How is Kappahl achieving this? Via a detailed Sustainability Strategy adopted by the whole of our organisation and supported by all of our employees.
Our strategy is founded on our long-standing experience and in-depth insights into fashion and how it affects people and the environment, informed by current scientific evidence, the theory behind the Planetary Boundaries and the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
